I firmly believe that, as a therapist, I need to meet people where they are at. My role is to provide a safe space to explore whatever pain is present in your life as well as help you identify your unique strengths, gifts, and abilities. I feel that everyone needs to be truly heard and accepted regardless of circumstance and that my approach needs to fit within your worldview.

I pride myself on being flexible and readily adaptable based on the needs of each individual client. I am here to offer genuine caring, empathy, and respectful curiosity to help you on the journey of self-inquiry. The analogy I use routinely is you are driving the bus, and my role is to help put fuel in the tank.

I practice from a person-centered approach and utilize techniques based in cognitive behavioural therapy, rational emotive behavioural therapy, solution-focused and strengths-based therapy, trauma informed therapy, and play-based interventions. I also love to use humour in my work, especially with children and adolescents.

I have spent the past fifteen years working with children, youth, and families who have experienced disrupted attachments, complex trauma, and significant mental health and behavioural concerns. I believe that this work has helped me refine my clinical skills, particularly in helping young people make sense of their experiences and the world around them.

Areas that I specialize in are: anxiety and depression, complex trauma, parent-teen conflict, family systems related issues, attachment difficulties, risk management, separation and divorce.

For over 15 years I have worked as a clinical therapist in both Regina and Saskatoon. I have Master and Bachelor Degrees in Social Work from the University of Regina. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families experiencing mental health difficulties, trauma, substance use and gambling issues. As a therapist, I value watching clients and families develop new coping skills and break free from unhealthy situations.

I appreciate that accessing therapeutic support can sometimes be difficult; however, when therapy is done effectively the outcomes can be remarkable. I believe that balance is necessary for healthy functioning; therefore, my therapeutic approach cultivates personal and relational balance, while inspiring personal growth and independence.

Those that I work with are encouraged to embrace their individual values, beliefs, and culture while developing their personal identity and full potential. I strive to promote self-healing, empowerment, and resilience. I embrace a Trauma-Informed Practice that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and self-esteem work. Additionally, stress, anger & anxiety management support is prioritized allowing clients to learn skills to cope with life transitions, create and maintain meaningful relationships, resolve conflict, and develop mindfulness and grounding practices. I have been described by my clients as being easy to talk to, kind, caring, open, honest and perceptive. I am passionate about the work I do and believe that it is important to create a safe and inviting environment to allow people to freely express themselves. Some of my strengths as a therapist stem from my ability to connect with others, coupled with my genuine desire to assist people in achieving a greater sense of well-being in their lives. I believe that fostering connections is a key component to the therapy process. My role is to collaborate with you, so that we can identify patterns, find solutions, focus on your strengths and move forward. Life can be more than just surviving; I want to help people thrive. I am passionate about trauma, stress recovery, self-regulation and the use of self-compassion in order to support mental health and wellness. Counselling supports holistic health by facilitating balance and wellbeing. I believe in bringing my whole self to my practice and am intentional in setting the right conditions for my clients to do the same, with courage and bravery in order to achieve change. Authenticity and connection are key to my practice. I feel incredibly privileged to bare witness to the vulnerable and courageous work that clients do in order to create lasting change.

Born and raised in Saskatoon, I am a registered Social Worker who has worked in the field for over 13 years. I have worked with individuals struggling with ongoing stress response, depression, anxiety, physical health challenges, post natal struggles, grief and addictions. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University and have under graduate degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina.

In order to meet client needs, my practice includes a multi-modality approach of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based, solution focused, attachment theory and Somatic Experiencing. Somatic Experiencing is a model of therapy used to resolve mental health by working with the innate capacity of the body to relieve stress symptoms and bring a client back into balance and regulation. I believe that when we create a greater understanding of our bodies, build stronger relationships with ourselves and others; trauma recovery, healing and long-term resilience becomes possible.

I have always been fascinated by how people live their lives and interact with others. My belief is that previous experiences and relationships have shaped how we live our lives, and sometimes that works out easily, and other times that’s very difficult for us.

I believe in offering my honest self, in a supportive and caring way. I am honoured to be invited to hear your story to help create positive change. I truly care for all my clients and work hard to help you feel better. It is most important to me that those seeking therapy feel safe, heard, and understood. Finding the right therapist is important and vital to the counselling process. Being vulnerable is not easy and having a therapist that is non-judgemental and open is absolutely necessary. My goal is to help you find what the root of the issue is. I specialize in working through relational and childhood trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, parenting and family conflict, boundary difficulties and self-esteem. The modalities I use are Gottman Method (for couples), Attachment-Based models, CBT, and DBT primarily.
